My next door neighbours Tony & Sue own a cab company in Immingham. Today @ 0820hrs there was an explosion in the cab office in town. Sue & the girl on the desk "Anne" died. Tony was just outside & suffered 10% burns after running in to try & get them out. He's in Wakefield hospital but should be ok.
I don't know Anne but Tony & Sue are in thier 40's have 3 daughters, 2 grandchildren & youngest daughter is 14. They were childhood sweethearts since thier schooldays.
I can't begin to imagine how Tony & the children are feeling. I've seen family members going in & out & don't know what to say. The whole town is in shock. They were good nieghbours, always cheerfull.
To be honest i'm stunned.

:'( :'( :'(
An awful thing any time, but right before Christmas :'(
Do they know what caused it :o
I know new taxi firms in Milton Keynes normally get torched if they are likely to upset the twin cartell >:(

Very sad news ... condolences to the families of those who died .. and best wishes to the survivors.
Must be a big shock when things like this happen so close to home ...

Cheers all. As i unlocked the car this morning Tony pulled away to pick up his first booking. At least he's alive. His Mrs. Sue isn't. Saw her yesterday looking for something in her car when i got in from work. In 6 years i never saw her without a smile on her face.
The other lady who died (Anne) i don't know myself but she was well known to her friends & family in Immingham. The company was called Fred's Taxis well established when Tony took it over. No foul play suspected. These were hard working respectable freindly people.
It's just not right.

Very sad thing to happen and even worse this time of year :'( :'(
The firm I work for....has security measures at its office.......three cameras watching the front of premises (the dome type so you dont know if theyre watching you) another cam in the front reception area..with receptionist locked away in separate area with glass screen between...you carnt get pass the reception area unless you know the pin code for the next door.
Reception area is only 'manned' between 9-5........then front door is locked.....and you have use an intercom to speak to anyone inside.
I think its a sad world having to take these sorta precautions :(

It would appear that it is being seen as a "terrible accident" at this moment .. :(

:)First time i've seen it as it was cordoned off. The silver C3 in front of the fire appliance was Sue's own car. (not a plated cab) She must've driven it there this morning. The red Sports car in the drive is Tony's weekend toy. A Mitsubishi GTO twin turbo manual. He took me for a blat when he first bought it.
The car's not 30 -40ft from me now. I'm glad Tony's gonna pull through but i dunno what to say when i see him.
We read & sympathize with such tragic events but when it's so close to home it really hits hard.
