Had to get home a bit quick today, so was 'driving it like I stole it' :) - noticed on three roundabouts, a knocking noise from the o/s/f wheel as I turned the steering quickly from right back to centre. Also felt it through the steering wheel (single knock each time). Weather conditions were very very wet, and despite attempts to replicate it since, it has not come back. Can turn the steering lock-to-lock at standstill, and there is no noise, and there appears to be no play. Similarly, threw it into a couple of roundabouts just now and seems okay. Wishbone front lower bushes were advisory at last MOT, so could they be causing it, or was it just the wet or me being over sensitive :-? - both front tyres 6+mm and recently balanced.
Any ideas gratefully received - cheers :y

I've been getting the same recently so will be watching this one. Steering idler is the other side so doubt that. Mine did MOT last week with no advisory so may or may not be wishbone related. :-/

I get a similar noise but it only seems to be when car has parked up,especially overnight and more when it is very cold, then when hit bump or "pothole" it makes a noise.
My recent MOT raised no advisories so on advise have bought new wishbones and drop links,so awaiting warmer drier weather before getting stuck-in.
Worth just replacing drop links first as no big job and also the cheapest option first.
I will also be watching this for the conclusion.

I was wondering about the drop links... My last car, a Fiat, clunked its way through three MOT's without getting busted for worn drop links and ARB bushes... :)

For about £20=00 and an hours work ,worth replacing them if only to eliminate them from search..have read they don,t always cause a MOT issue even when have movement in the joint.

Sounds like a nice little job for Easter weekend then... as you say, for such little cost it is worth taking them out of the equation :y
