Title: Help please - how to remove walnut door trim
Post by: M0T0RVATE on 20 March 2010, 10:44:56
Hi folks

I am replacing the walnut trim on my Elite doors.
Need to know how to remove them - do they remove easily, or do I have to remove door cards ??
Would appreciated some helpful advice, rather than wade in and maybe break something.  :-/

Thanks

Colin   :)

Yes there are about half a dozen plastic rivets, you need a hacksaw blade to cut through them. While your doorcards are off, it's a good time to Lube everything.

Do you? I used a small screw driver to put down the slit of the clips gae a slight twist which opens the clips and allows the clip to slide off the plastic, flatten them again then they push on nice and tight on the new one :y

Thanks Darth, I will use my trim tool/screwdriver.
Will probably have a go this weekend.
