Title: GearBox Oil
Post by: rappy on 30 March 2010, 22:18:09
Hi, could anyone advise on what gearbox oil to use on a 2.2GLS yr'00 saloon manual. I've put gearbox oil into search but it didn't come up with anything, so I apologise now if this has been asked and i've not seen it..... and also how much does it hold...only got the little manual book and no figures are in there.  Thanks in advance of your help.  :)

Vx stuff or a decent fully synthetic 75 grade gear oil

Fuchs Titan Sinto Fluid 75w was recommended by opie oils

The genuine VX stuff is pink and very thin (like water) but its what vx use in there current manual box cars. Fully synthetic and about 5 pound a litre. you need about 1.3 litres

yes - GM specify Auto Transmission Fluid

a "normal" transmission oil is far too thick.
