Title: BEARINGS FUBERD.
Post by: ffcgary1 on 11 April 2010, 19:08:52
Aa couple of weeks ago  my v6 developed a high pitched bearing noise at the front of the engine, so i removed the aux belt and the noise dissapeared, so i guessed it was the aux pulley and puchased a new one from vx.
Today i fitted it and started the engine only to find that the noise was still there, DAMM BLAST AND DEARY ME[in not so many words] it turns out to be the alternator bearings are noisey. :(
I know that they are replacable  but i want to know if there are any special tools needed to do the job.
Thanks Gary.

Nothing to special.....its easier with a small puller or some tyre levers plus you may need a large spanner to get the main pulley nut off
