Title: Windscreen washers
Post by: ScottieMV6 on 10 April 2010, 17:08:52
My windscreen washers have just stopped working. The tank is full of water/screen wash and the pump can be heard working but nothing coming out of the jets.

Any thoughts?

Have you tried cleaning the rubber grommet where the stop sits as per the maintenance guide?

Couldn't find anything in the maintenance guides when I looked but have now found it and read it.

Very helpful thanks. I will give that a try :y

try looking along the pipe as someone turns the washers on, there may be a leak or kink in the pipe somewhere  :y

Try seperating the water pipe where it goes into the bonnet area as it should have a joiner..then see if you are getting water to that point....if you are then expect the washer jets on bonnet are blocked...if no water at that point most likely cause is the filter in the water bottle.
Pull out the pump and see if the little black grommet is full opf muck.

Our feed line split where it bends as the bonnet is opened/closed by the passenger side hinge. A one way valve from Helfrauds (About £5) fixed the problem without the hassle of running a new hose from the pump to the nozzles.

Possibly screenwash is far too weak ;)

Screen wash refilled at 50/50. Hopefully should stay clear for a while :y
