Hi friends,
Omega V6 petrol 2.5
I think I have made a booboo because I had taken the 4 pipes off the back of the plenum top rear, the breather system pipes, and I have not noted where they came from. The 2 outer ones were easy but the 2 thinner inside ones have moved a bit.
Looking from the front of the car am I right in saying that the outer left and right big ones goes via a tee to the engine breather box, the left thin one to the pre-throttle breather and the right thin one to the small pipe on the engine breather box carbon canister thingy (alongside the thick one from the tee).
Does it make any difference where the thin ones go?
I will mark them next time! :D

There is a bit about them in the Maintenance Guide section, including a picture of the Plenum box. The picture was taken showing the bottom view though so you will have to look at it and change the legend from 1234 to 4321 to put them into the right order from above. Good idea to label them though.
Hope that helps, if not I am sure someone will give a better explanation if the diagram I looked at was wrong.

You are of course correct regarding the outer two pipes.
The driver's side of the 2 smaller pipes is the post throttle breather. This pipe leads to the smaller of the two connections on the breather box behind the 1,3,5 cylinder head.
The passenger side of the 2 breather pipes goes to the little solenoid valve behind the 1,3,5 cylinder head and then onwards to the canister in the front wing.

thats the way i've got mine i think
but
does it make any difference if you swap the 2 small pipes round ?

Hi Kevin,
So was my interpretation of the diagram in the Maintenance Section right in principle then? Perhaps the diagram should have been, or at least included a top view of it too.
Must say though that these migs are a pipe fitters nightmare. Got all mine colour coded now with colour matched tie-wraps. Good old VX designers struck again :D

Don't know tigers_gonads but when I had mine the wrong way round some time ago the engine was not as happy and sounded a bit off. Weird really!
Maybe Kevin will have a clue.

Thank you Kevin. I read the one from bionic and followed the guide he pointed me to and by drawing the diagram then redrawing it in mirror view it came to what you have described. Silly really to have a picture from the bottom view that only serves to confuse those it is meant to help.
It looks to be a badly designed part anyway when the pipes go to opposite directions from their plenum places. Waht sort of idiot thought of doing that I wonder. Some designer with his mind not on the job and never actually had to work on one?
Thank you all
