Title: Brake and Clutch bleeding
Post by: VXL V6 on 18 April 2010, 21:14:43
Need to bleed some new fluid through the tractors brakes at some point, but I'm guessing that there must be some method of bleeding the clutch as well?

Any pointers?

Easibleed for the brakes in the normal fashion and a 100ml syringe with a short length of leak off pipe for the clutch. Do the clutch first with clean fluid from the bleed nipple below, forcing the clean fluid back up to the M/C. BUT take some out of the resevoir first as you don't want it overflowing all over the paintwork ;) :y

EDIT: took 3 full 100ml syringes to refill my clutch fluid from empty yesterday so I'd say 4 using clean fluid to flush the old carp out :y

The method I use is to empty the fluid and then modify the easi bleed to feed fresh in through the bleed nipple

Thanks! Always used an easibleed before as I know that it pushes the seals in the master cylinder in the correct direction and all you have to watch is the fluid level.  :y

Is the bleed nipple obvious? Have to say I haven't looked for that on the clutch....  :-[

The brakes are piped in such a way that when bleeding for example bleed front near side the rear offside diagonal.
the clutch is just open the nipple at gearbox and make sure there is plenty of brake fluid in the resevoir.
I don't personaly don't pump the pedal brake or clutch and let gravity do the work it does take some time but the air is out off the system. :y
I would recomend buying a proper nipple ring spanner

Yep, offside of 'box just aft of bellhousing.
Bleed nipple points rearwards - can't miss it! :y
