Changed the spark plugs on my facelift today when I took the nearside coil pack off I found this

Looks like water has got into the spark plug holes, not sure how it got there, it was completely dry in there, maybe it had been jet washed at some time ?
Any ideas?
Not sure if the coil pack will need replacing at some point.

Same as mine - water likely leaking in from the scuttle - either via the wiper hole, or the scuttle join. Water runs in, then down under the plenum, and straight into your plug wells, eventually killing the coil pack.
Seal the scuttle up with good quality silicon sealant, and you should be right.Make sure to seal well around the top AND bottom of the wiper holes. Problem also worse if you park downhill like I did :y
When the coil pack starts to die, you will see codes 0300 and 030x (where x will be one of the pots).

Thanks for the link..
Didn't think there would be the same problem with the leaking scuttle for the facelift as there was for the prefacelifts with water getting into the coil packs.
I've found coil packs on www.vauxcentre.co.uk for around £75
That means I have to take the whole lot back apart again..
I did notice a little bit of water ingress on the drivers side but not nearly as bad as the passengers side.

Yes, that's about the right price - AutoVaux are about the same, sometimes find them cheaper on eBay.
Looking at others on the forum, always seems to be the 2-4-6 bank for RHD (would be the harder one!). If you are not getting the misfire codes, you may get away with sealing the scuttle for the time being - depends how long it has been exposed to the water I guess.

Oh well I've ordered up a pair of coils to be on the safe side.
As I've broken half the clips on the cable trunking it must be easier to take off the next time.
And I'll have a look at the scuttle and see about sealing it up.

I recently took the coil pack of the nearside and found the same rust problem drivers side no sign of rust. obviously another design problem
