f its missing at the fuel rail end then there is a vac leak....and the engine wont like that, particularly at idle
-
I've just had a look on ours for you. It just has a short length of vac hose coming from the throttle body, low down on the front side, just below the non-connector-end of the idle air valve (IACV).
Can take a pic if needed.
Pete

Here's one I've just found on here that shows it:
It's actually going onto the inlet manifold, just below the throttle body, see the black rubber coupling bit just below the idle valve?

Thanks pete Super pic.

They muts have left it off when they did your H/G, I'd be taking it back about the broken inlet stud too :y

Sadly putting the vac pipe back on hasnt cured my ailing motor, in fact its getting steadily worse i have no power when trying to accelarate, It takes me roughly two miles on a straight road to get upto 50 mph, car has started popping and banging through air filter, and now the downpipe has started to blow, it was only put back on last week, could it be that my motor is in death throes, ive been told that sometimes after the headgasket has been done the car starts to lose compression a few days after the repair, whatever it is its getting worse, i cant keep throwing money at this beast, ive had the timing reset, new cam sensor fitted, the funny thing is car ticks over rock steady. its only when you try to drive it that things go wrong, There is no smoke whatsoever , Maybe i could keep it as an ornament. has anybody else had anything similar.

On monday it cost me £ 150 for new windscreen yesterday i had someone look at it and it cost me £ 150 for new water pump and Cam sensor i had the Downpipe resealed £10 and was told by the chap that the car was getting excessivley hot due to it misfiring and that it had probably damaged my cat, after i got up off the floor He told me that it was probably down to the coil pack I left there and the car would not go above 30 mph and was popping and banging thro the air filter box and the exhaust tailpipe was as sooty as hell the back of the car looked like a diesel. so Ive Bit The bullet and took it to main dealers for a diagnostic check, £60+ vat, Ive left it there till monday, will post the results monday night, I will have to get the trusty Push cycle out for work on monday, 8 miles each way and i bet its raining,
