Dear All,
HOpe you can help. The other day I was driving my car and tried to stop at an intersection and couldnt press down the brake pedal. I pulled up the handbrakes in time to stop, but I was SCARED!! Anyway..I little mechanic shop happened to be on the corner. He patched up the problem..said it was a broken PC valve. He said he used some kind of compound to blue the part together, but that I would need to get a new PC Valve. I`ve been searching on the net for a PC valve for the Opel, but I`ve discovered that the PC valve serves an entirely different purpose, and I don`t think the mechanic knows at all what he Is talking about. Any ideas as to what part this man may have glued together, and what part it is that i may need to replace?

If you couldn't press the pedal down I would say the servo was at fault or lack of vacuum to the servo

If you follow the solid black tube from the servo (big round metal drum) underneath where the brake fluid goes with the engine running and feel for any leaks or that it hasn't come away anywhere. You should be able to hear it hissing with it running if it is leaking anywhere.

Thanks for the advice. This has actually been quite helpful. I will use this information to hone in on the problem. No one on the island seems to really be able to deal with this car.
