Title: 2.0 Litre Omega ECU

 If i were to buy a  used ECU and a wiring loom for my omega, could i just put them on and start the car or would i have to Have the ecu reprogrammed to my car. :-/

I could have fluffed it up, filled it wankword bingo candidates like the idiots on BBC1 currently, given it some spin, but being straight talking, honest, simple, and to the point, I thought my reply hit the nail on the head  :-/

OP - As Welung666 says, need to swap Engine ECU, immobiliser ECU and transponders all together, else it all needs programming.

I've just replaced mine came with ecu transponder and chips cost £60 plugged it in started straight away nonprob since!hop e you get it sorted matey!

I dont suppose any body on here has a engine bay loom and an ecu complete on here for sale :-?

You don't need the loom (assuming thats not another problem)

Scrap yard might also be a potential source of bits, Pimhole in Bury has a load of yards, whether there are any 2.0's in I couldn't say.  :-/  :y

The Loom is the cause of all my problems, Ive been told it has a short somewhere which caused the ecu to fail, but no one can find the fault. :o

So if they haven't seen the short, how can they say thats whats caused it?  Needs further diagnostics I think, before changing parts....

just been offered £450 for car as it is i think i will let it go.
