Hi guys, after putting about £40 of shell petrol in today, i went off to tesco to get a few things...
when i came out and got to the car it smelt very warm and oily.. the car started with no problems and as i went to pull away there were a few jerks like there was no fuel..
after a little blast i thought it went away but when i get to around 50mph the car lacks power and starts juddering but below 50mph and using kickdown its fine..
i took the car for a test run about 10 minutes ago and all seems fine again with no leaks etc but still smells warm/hot oil..
i done a paperclip test and came up with code 135 which acording to the code list...
135 Telltale (Checklight) Voltage Low
can someone try and translate this please!!

Possible dirty fuel or HG
-
check the plug wells for oil..
-
will have to do that tomorrow as its now dark!
what else can i look out for in the meantime...
there are no leaks of coolant or oil and there is no oil or water in each other... so im guessing its not the HG...

You haven't put diesel in by mistake have you ?
-
Definately not!!

Hi Coastie,
I have the same code (135), are your map lights and heated seats working? If not check fuse 29 in the fuse box under the steering wheel.
Don't think it's anything to do with your fuel issue though..... :(

Will check in morning... I dont think it's to do with loss of power either but is a bit of co-incedance that this has only just appeared and so has loss of power...

checked heated seats and map lights and there working fine...
I had a mechanic at work check voltage and apparently it's only earthing 6 volts...

Thanks, I have another code relating to the A/C cutoff relay, and my heated seats and maplights arn't working. So that narrows it down abit. Cheers :y

I have notice in one of the plug wells there is a very very small amount of oil approx half teaspoon
it's the first well from front bumper on the o/s as this was the easiest one to look in!!

earlier on today I spoke to the local stealers about the code and they seem to think it's to do with a bulb out in the dash somewhere if that's a help!!
Rearding the slight possible missfire/judder it has done it again on the way home from work...
Could there be some rain water getting in the engine somewhere as it's been raining yesterday and today... Just a thought..

I'm sure if you look in the rest you will find more oil in them.............. cam cover gaskets !
Done mine using the guide on here last year !
and still not leaking :)
Also clean the breathers while you're :y at it

In the guide it says..
Rocker gaskets: 90511451, one set per bank (£25+ Vat retail)
O-rings: 90411826, 8 per bank (13p+ VAT retail)
Gasket, Inlet bridge to head: 90501652, 2 off
Gasket, Inlet to Inlet bridge: 90501653, 3 off
Gasket, Inlet to Plenum O rings: 9118135, 6 off
Sealent, Black (not the Green stuff!): 90485251, 1 off
I take it I need 2xrocker gaskets and 16 x o rings....
Sorry for the stupid sounding questions!!!
