Title: Drop links
Post by: Dan Hope on 30 April 2010, 07:01:23
Hi everyone

Would these be ok to buy or do i have to buy vauxhalls own??

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vauxhall-Omega-94-04-FRONT-ROLL-BAR-DROP-LINK-RODS-x-2-/290430443205?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item439f00dec5

the clattering noise is getting worse. haven't had a chance to look yet but im thinkin, while im under there with the wheels off, do the drop links anyway if they're that cheap and easy to do....they are easy, right??

Cheers
Dan

yes, normally easy to do.

the trouble with links like youve supplied is they are totally unbranded, so you may be getting a good part, or a poor copy that wont last.

I pay a bit more for a brand like FAI or Febi Bilstein and install with confidence.

Heres a thread from when I did mine a week or 2 ago...

gives a link to the febi ones i got...

If you have a local CAF....then KW's suggestion of Delphi will likely be a good choice and avoid postage  :y

all done with the drop links. Quite painless really :-) nightmare getting the old ones off but piece of cake putting the new ones on, phew

i think the steering feels a bit more positive and less play in the whole feel of things. they weren't the clatter after all though, that was the break pad springs that had fallen off. changed the pads too and the clatter has now gone :-)
