Hi All,
Omega 2.2 dti cdx face lift saloon. If parked on slope facing down hill all night it will start in the morning fine. But if parked on level ground not a chance. I have a primer bulb under bonnet and I have to pump the fuel through to get it started. I have changed the injector crossover seals, also the filter housing, and got a load of crap out of the fuel tank but still the same problem. Has any one else had this trouble, and been able to fix it? Many thanks in advance.

It seems to me that the fuel could be running back into the tank, are there any one way valves in the fuel line? If so where are they?

I have a primer bulb fitted to mine and it has a one way valve fitted so if yours is the same I would suggest the air leak is somewhere between the bulb and the tank.

It seems to me that the fuel could be running back into the tank, are there any one way valves in the fuel line? If so where are they?
Could this be a problem with the fuel pump? are there any One way valves in pump that may have failed.

I have looked for a leak but can find nothing.

Can't say i've had the problem but i've heard others have.... .I just can't remember the solution!

Its normally either the fuel filter or housing, fuel bleed off pipes/return pipes or injector seals

This problem is now doing my head no good at all, I have put a one way valve in the fuel feed pipe at the tank end to stop the fuel running back into the tank over night but the problem is still there. So maybe the fuel is not running back into the tank. Or could it be running back via the return, (but it is suppose to) Could it be going somewhere else? Is there Some one out there with a good knowledge of the diesel fuel system who may be able to help me before I go to my grave? :'( :'(

Can no one help with this problem? I've noticed It wont start if the fuel is low, quarter full or lower.

I'm not to clued up on the 2.2
when you stop the engine the next time take off the return pipe and listen the fuel shouln't drain back to the tank. make sure the return follows the flow pipe up and over the engine if it drops below the pump it will syphon(hope thats spelt wright).
If its not that then it looks like a trip to a injection specialist to test the pump.
just had a thought check the webasto(coolent heater) heater for fuel leak.

I used to maintain a fleet of taxi's and this was a common problem,it is probably the injector seals.
There are 2 easy ways to check ...parkthe car nose down on a hill overnite and you will probably find it will start in the morning as the fuel won't run back uphill,second test take out the fuel filter and look for a section of black on the bottom,this is engine oil as when the fuel runs back it sucks a little engine oil with it.
If these checks prove possative change your injector seals.
BTW they can be changed without removing the camshaft.

I have also problems with my 2.2 dti, and managed in different ways but without great succes. I had mounted a unisense valve in the return pipe from the tank, mounted a manual pump (witch has a unisense valve in it) in the line beetwen filter housing and injection pump, also refitted another injection pump (very expensive) with 1 year guarantee, changed O-ring seals from the injectors (had black diesel fuel returning from one injector => whole tank contminated), changed the entire hose line from filter housing to injection pump. So, excepting all that, I only assume that is from the injectors, wich it will cost aprox. 50 E each in changing the nossle. Any ideas? :)
