Does anyone have a picture of the whereabouts of the coolant drain plug on the block?

no, but just aft of turbo, about 15mm (iirc) bolt, all on its own.

I would still have to flush the system through loads of times, as not all of the coolant comes out at once

Exactly that is what i was thinking of doing :y
