Title: ECU Fault Codes and Autobox in Safe Mode
Post by: Jezzer on 03 May 2010, 11:48:29
Hi All
Paper Clip Test Done   (Thanks TheBoy!)

Fault Codes:
0130: 02 Sensor Circuit Voltage Low
0130: 02 Sensor Circuit Voltage High
0130: 02 Sensor Range/Performance

1690: Telltale (Check Light) Voltage High
1690: Telltale (Check Light) Voltage Low

Can anyone explain where I need to look? is an earthing issue, power supply???? AND how these faults maybe connected to my AutoBox being stuck in 'limp mode'???
All other functions on the car are fine.......
Cheers

P0130 would put the car into limp mode to protect the cats from damage due to over fuelling. Check the wiring from the 02 sensor back to the plug. Also check the plug is clean, dry and fully pushed home as a simple starting point.

Agreed - as I originally stated more likely to be an engine issue putting gearbox into safe mode. http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1272725694/0#2

Hi All, checked o2 Sensor, looks clean and fairly new, wiring sound, connectors all seem OK? (could the actual sensor be faulty?)
Will try Paper Clip test again to see if get the same codes?
Seems odd that this fault came about straight after my original battery failed and blew a fuse?
I repalced the fuse and fitted a new High Power Battery and it still won't come on? Getting Very Frustrating  >:(

What are the symptoms of the engine?

That's what's so odd? There are none?

It starts first time every time, uses virtually no oil or water, runs crisp and smooth, good mpg?
I did have some issues BEFORE I replaced the battery last week tho': sluggish starting..... battery knackered!
Engine ran hot (new rad stat for cooling fan fixed it) Idle was 'hunting up and down between 1,000 & 1,500 rpm but only when very hot, fine when at normal temp
Info display didn't work (bad connections)
Cruise not working (is now?)
Radio cutting out (fixed now I have put in my Sony MP3)

Autobox worked fine all the time - hasn't worked since battery replaced? ALL other faults GONE!
p.s. Checked ATF Fluid and good colour (deep red) and fully topped up.

HTH and Andy B said maybe dodgy 02 Sensor?
Happy to change if I knew that was the problem......

STUMPED?  ::)
Happy to pay you to have a look and help 'identify' the main issue, i.e. ECU reset new sensors etc..... sure it has got to be electrical/ecu based.........

p.s. New Cambelt, Water Pump etc.. at 57k (58k now)
New Mot 1/4/2010 passed Emission with ease?
No burning smells, cooling liquid brownish in colour but smells of antifreeze, no oil filler slugging, all engine electrics clean and connected?

What are the *current* symptoms.

Sorry mate misunderstood what you meant.

The Autobox is stuck in 'safe mode' i.e. you have to shift it manually, Gear 1 to pull away then up through gears and back.
All gears are selectable, no clonking or roughness with changing.

There are no LEDs on the Selector (PRND123) to right of selector.........
No Kickdown
No Sport Mode
No Winter Button

Info Panel says 'Automatic Gearbox' when starting up.

ALL other Electrics on car are fine.
Engine runs very well?
 :(

Right.

Turn ign on (not starting).

Do you get Autogearbox warning then?  Do the LEDs light up 1,2,3,D,N,R,P as appropriate.

If you get the warning, and LEDs dont light up, change the selector switch ;)

Hi The Boy

Will check later but sure the waring only comes on after. engine started, and LED's on selector don't come on at all.

Hi
Tested:
The 'Autobox Warning' does not come on until after starting the engine AND Selecting a gear (forward or reverse) Does not come on at all before then?
Stays on for 5 secs or after pulling away.
LED's do not come at any time?
 :(
