conti for me, but skf are fine i believe, both supply GM anyway. GM on tc are about 110 for my 3.2 so the card wont help so much on this item.

Any gates/conti/skf should be fine.  The prices your are being quoted are too high though.

i have just had a look at euro car parts and they want

conti £90.28 Inc VAT
skf £90.48 Inc VAT

the stealers want £108 + VAT (126.90 inc) for the timing belt kit with a TC....

the price from the stealers was what i was quoted yesterday from eden exeter, will get a price as soon as the TC comes through!

You could get the cambelt kit from Autovaux who also do locking kit hire.

Another vote for the DVD; I couldn't have done the job without it... :y

DVD arrived today and watched.. It doesn't seem to difficult to do...

When replacing the plenum, are there any gaskets/ o-rings etc that will need replacing??

What's the best grease to use when greasing the aux tensioner or should I replace it instead?? If I replace it can someone post the part number for me please....

Regards

shaun

Right I've now got all the prices for parts/locking kit etc..

Do I buy a locking kit (unfortunately laser at £71 Inc p&p) or do I rent one from autovaux??

Do I need to grease/seal/replace any gaskets etc when replacing the plenum??

If I bought a genuine gm timing kit from vauxhall and it didn't have the markings on, how could I fit it correctly or doesn't it matter as long as the cams and crank are accurately timed??

Marks just a guide to get you started, once youve rotated the engine they dont line up again.  :y

Thanks for the reply..

I've just managed to get a genuine vx timing belt kit and aux belt for £57 posted from fleabay...

It is new, still in packaging and genuine, and the correct parts for my car. was bought for chaps car, his car was written off and doesn't need it!! Absolute bargin I think...

Now just need to get the aux tensioner and cam cover gaskets and then I'm busy on Sunday!!!!

I nearly had a cam locking kit off him but was sold before I could purchase it :( looks like I'm going to have to rent one now.......

Hi guys bits are now arriving.. The gm timing belt has no timing marks - not a problem but it has no direction of travel stamped on the belt, does that now mean it can go any way round now??

www.autovaux.co.uk hire the locking kit out for £15/week plus return postage approx.£8.  ;)

Plus excellent prices on water pump and cambelt kit. :)

The OOF DVD is worth every penny - highly recommend. :y

I have already done all this if you read my posts!!!!

The question I asked is my cambelt has no markings for direction of travel does that mean it can be put on any way round.
