Title: Sluggish - what to check next
Post by: Martin_1962 on 01 May 2010, 11:48:51
New MAF (Bosch), new coil pack, tried full revs and it is not as quick as it should be.

Still have 0300 0305 stored.

Air filter is fine, cam timing was fine when last checked.

Petrol filter is new.

Just not as quick as it has been on full throttle full revs as it has been.

Thanks

Martin

Are they showing as present or not present?

EDIT: Odd that it's showing a lambda problem Bank 1 sensor 1 and a fuel trim for bank 2!

I held the pedals down, no lights lit and I counted these.

How much work to swap out both Lambdas?

Tempted to get a DLK to do it.

hmmm, if mixed bank errors, I wonder if you could have mixed up a connector somewhere...

I can change your lambdas, I'm only up the road. I can get the "My Naff Code Reader" on to clear the codes and recheck them too :y

Possible as the bank 1 and 2 sensor 2's plug in next to each other.

Can't get car in working spot as the caravan is in the way.

I think Jimbob meant the downpipes. I normally drop the downpipes and disconnect the lambdas so I dont stretch the wiring, maybe thats the problem.

Jaime'll soon move it. Have you got a can of petrol and a match? Oh, and a dustpan and brush. ;D

Worth checking the live data before anything is cleared. In particular, look for activity on both Lambda sensors (might need to fast idle it for a minute to wake them up). Also check MAF reading at idle and fast idle, and see what the fuel trim values have done on both banks.

I'll need to check with Sue, and also get gas.

How long does it have to cool for before you can fit them?

Will we need to get plenum off?

You are talking to the person who had to take the head off to get the B bolt off!!!! :-[ :-[

Sunday is a no because of the ABS/OOF meet, Saturday I'm in work first thing, free from around 9:30am and need to be back at work for 3:30pm to lock up.

Thanks
