Hi
Have a 2.2 (2000yr) auto and have found recently that when I start the engin when its warm I sometimes have a mis-fire for a split second and then a auto box check warning. If I turn the engine off and start it again its normally ok. I have no probs when cold. Any help is appreciated Thanks

Morning Daisy, you need to get the codes read to see if that narrows down the cause. Where in Wales are you as someone maybe close by that can read them for you.

Thought of that, theres a guy I know up the road who can help. Just wondered if the was a common fault or something I could check in the meanwhile. Thx

could be a few things on a 2.2...
the plugs could have got wet, common for the scuttle to leak on 2.2's
wouldnt explain the gearbox though.
could be in need of a good service and breather / throttle body clean.
gearbox could be low on fluid
could be a sensor not working quite right at 1st. (poss cam sensor as these can trigger gearbox false errors, and common on the 2.2)
or a combination of the above....or something different.
Getting the codes is certainly going to help. we have a 'pedal test' see the links in my signature for details, its unlikely to work on your 2.2, but it may do. Or find someone with a code reader, and post the results back here.

Cam sensor on its way out.
Will last still so don't change yet.
My mig has jad the same error for a year now and still works ok.
