just had someone go in to the back of my elite at the lights
silver t reg 3l mini face lift full servis history 86 thousand on clock emasculate condition.
bumper been pushed in and up on passenger side
boot opens and shuts but bit of a catch clunk and not quite right
bumper sticking out a bit on near/passanger side looks like busted clip
but not much paint damage to bumper and not dented or cracked
dosent look like boot floor is affected
but thinking that insharance will find it an un economical reparable
what you guys think as i dont know mig body prices
and what the car would be worth
if it is a un econimical i want to keep and fix
what you guys think its worth as i dont want to get screwed by the insharance
gutted
-
That is very sad news indeed! :'( :'(
After losing my CDX last October in the same way I know what you are going through! :( :(
However, from what you say the damage is certainly repairable, and maybe (if you are lucky)with insurance company money 8-) 8-)
This was the condition of mine, which had over £2,000 worth of damage. I received a cheque for £1,650 from the insurance company.

Hope that helps! ;) ;)
All the very best :y :y
-
don't know what the value is
but my best bet is that insurance comp will write it off as uneconomical repair and grade it as a cat c
which normally means a vic check and new mot
bought mine back last year for £50 from insurance after the same thing
-
hi,check the rear door gap clearences..
-
it was fairly light hit nowhere near as above pis shoory to hear about yours m8
door gaps clearance ok small bit out on boot gap on pasanger side
gap between top of bumper and boot out and passenger side as well
i thing its mostly bumper mountings and tail gate bit what ever you pushed ever so slightly
it wont get wrote off a such but my insharance im 3rd party only
hes admited liability and in writeing was decent enouth
i rang his insharaince and told em im giving them a chance to settel and sort me a hire car
or if they mess around ill call a accident management company or file a county court claim as hes admitted liability and its a no brainer
stopped a lights he gos strait into the back of me while im stationary
they told me there going to get hold of him and contact me tommorow
-
But it should be your insurance company that chase the other drivers insurance company and make a full claim.
You should not have to become involved direct with the other party. ;) ;)

I'm sorry to hear you've had everyones worse nightmare come true mate :( I hope everything is sorted in your favour very quickly :y

If you want to buy it back let them know now. I had a similar experience with a previous car, the insurance had sold it on to a breaker efore they had paid me out so didn't technically own the car at the time.

But it is a third party that has caused the accident, so surely it justifies a claim from your insurance company against them? :-/ :-/
EDIT: Blimey you have me thinking about this one and wondering what the legal situation is when the third party accepts liability; should / can / will your "Third Party" insurance company mount a claim for you? .........I wonder.......... :-/ :-/ :-/
-
they would but drag there feet for ages last time something like this happend
it took two years to be payed when some dumbow
drove into while i was parked and smoking a fag on my driveway. with the engine not running a 3 Independet wicnesses
this one is a no brain he went in to back of me at the lights and has admited it in writeing
and i cant afford to wait 2 year while insharence prats play around and aint going to
they should know there have pay and it will cost em a lot more if i got to a no win nofee claims lot
so i figger give em a chance to pay up quick
as if i do there wont and start mucking me around
they pay in 14days or ill sue em strait away
myself
-
Can you not think of it this way, just for now forget about insurance especially your 3rd party insurance, and simply think of your right to have a perfectly good claim for damage to your property thro the civil courts. Point this out to his or her's insurance co and it should sharpen their attention to your reasonable need to have your property restored to an undamaged condition.I hope you soon get a satisfactory conclusion after all your not to blame and the other party seems to quite fairly recognise this. Again hope it all works out ok :y :y
-
thanks that was what i was thinking
it was a him in a smartcar
-
Hope you get it sorted. I have yet to have a happy experience with car insurance claims ALL of which were other party fault.
Was it a Smart car that ran into the back of you? I went in one of those a few days ago and have never felt so vulnerable in my life!!
-
yea it was indeed a not so smart car
his insurance company have not retired my call as promised
so iv call a claims management company
one of the smaller one that seem to be well recommended in various forums

Thought i'd put my twopennies worth in ::)
U'r 1st port of call is to put in a claim for whiplash (u'll have to pay a visit to ur doctor with severe pain in ur neck & u have difficulties bending down) :'(
The minimum for this is around £1500-£2000 :o
The other parties insurance will most likely settle out of court which means u'll have money to fix ur motor :y
It's not an ideal situation but insurance companies will try anything to wriggle out of paying up >:(
Normally in this situation if ur fully comp ur insurance company will pay for ur damage & the other company will pay their clients claim.
Be carefull using a third party for ur claim as their charges can be astronomical & takes a long time to settle >:(
If his insurance company wants to play silly buggers then a claim for whiplash will probably cost them more than fixing ur car!
Certain companies will make a settlement out of court within 7 days so if i was u i'd go down the road of making a claim cos after all - it wasn't ur fault the accident happened :(

Dont know if you have seen any of my posts mate, but mine has been going on since 25th feb,and still not getting anywhere, even though they have been paying hire car costs from the day after it happened, which by now this is in 4 figure sums,so how the hell can they afford to pay for hire cars for this long, for the sake of £800 worth of damage. There wasent even a driver in my car at the time,as an artic was trying to turn into an industrial estate and hit my car,as you said mate, this is also a no brainer.Got to the point now where i am phoning third parties insurers direct now(what a bunch of tools),and every phone call takes 40 mins, after being put on hold, and speaking to 4 different people,so getting really pissed off now,and know how you feel. >:(

Agreed :y,why complicate things further to delay your claim,i could have claimed for a good many things if i really thought about it,but i am happy to just to get my car sorted.Everytime my 6 year old sees an artic now he is histerical, plus missus suffered a miscarriage soon after, cancelled weekend break away etc, need i go on. ::)
-
the point i meant that the op stated that the third party hit his car lightly there was no mention of his neck being sore
but straight away" oh quick claim for whiplash "
comes out
if you haven't got it dont claim
pisses me off that every honest motorist has to pay £30 extra per year on their policy because of people doing just that

+1 ,something we seem to have adopted from across the pond :(

That was the point i was trying to make!
Insurance companies are notorious for dragging out claim payouts especially when the claimant has only 3rd party policy.
Watch how quickly they react when a 'claim' is made for whiplash :o
I agree that it puts up inocent motorists insurance but this guy was hit from behind & is left with a damaged car that will take months before a payout is made & is out of pocket & IT'S NOT HIS FAULT especially when the driver at fault claimed responsibility!!

Read dragonlord's reply at 0.01 this morning & make ur own mind up as to whether he's sore or not!!!! :(
If you don't want him to claim for whiplash then why not lend him one of your ''3'' cars :-?
-
i would've claim like some do for no reason.
i feel shorry for the guy that hit me he was gutted and a real nice guy
and been strait up with his insharance company and told em it was his fault.
and i feel bad he will lose his ncb and will get a premium hike
he made a mistake and it going to cost him
unlike the last one that went trow a red light totaled my car and spent the next 2 years lie his ass off and
i ended up with nothing but a totaled car and 2 years of agro
and i hope he a life of hell
his insurance did admit liability
both his insurers and the claims management firm
asked if i was injured and as my back was sore yesterday
i told em the truth was i dont know and hope it hadn't aggravated my back.
and i dident want to claim the claims company then told me his insurance had admitted full blame and were expecting a injury claim
i want going to and said that then
Q tonight and hospital and i dont know
did it aggravate my already screwed back or did just kick off again on its own
i aint got a clue know what to do about it now

Mmmmm have read what u said 'properly' including - pisses me off that every honest motorist has to pay £30 extra per year on their policy because of people doing just that!!!!
So what would 'YOU' like him to do bearing in mind that the insurance company is in no hurry to cough up the money & havn't even had the decency of answering his calls?? >:(
I do however agree with you :o that there are a lot of unscrupulous people who make a living out of making false claims of injury & as such should be deported back to the land of donkeys & carts ::)
Dragonlord has my utmost sympathy & is caught up in no man's land as to what is right or wrong BUT at the end of the day its David versus Golieth & i for one know who's side i'm on!!

but take into account that this only happened on the 11th today is only the 13th give the insurance company a chance to get all the facts together the third party may not have been in touch with his insurance company yet

The car remained on my driveway, when I asked about buying it back after agreeing its value I was then told "It's already sold to a breaker, give them a call heres the number" >:(
-
his insurance have been in touch and agree fault and dont dispute it
thank god for an honest bloke that hit me shame for him as well
and an guy from his insharance is comining to me to look at the damage
and my lot are sending a interdependent bloke as well
me leg and back are murdering me you been out to get perscripion
told em what happen with back leg
they think it probably cause buy bump as leg is something new
and will take from in a few day to see if its ongoing or it settles down a bit
i dame well hope it dose calm down
iv had neally 3 weeks of pain
now this hospital have told ,e to take 60mg of codeine every 4 hours
i managing on less often as dont want to take it 24/7
-
well looks like it will be a injury claim
back my knee started swelling up went up hospital
now it swollen and brused they said its definitely not from back
its a tear/soft tishoe injury on back of knee / hamstring
it will take about 6 weeks to heal properly
is killing me still but good news its not a nerv problem from back what would have been a lot worse
so apparently iv got basically whiplash of the leg
new one on me:o
not herd of whiplash leg before
you couldn't make that one if some body said that to before id think they were pulling my leg(bad pun)
