Title: Still got my V6 misfire. help pls!
Post by: Varche on 16 May 2010, 10:55:24
Done so far.

Yesterday Plugs out and check leads. All looked good and no obvious sign of which cylinder is misfiring. No oil in any plug well. Did paperclip test and it threw up 135. telltale (checklight) voltage low.

Found bad split pipe from vacuum valve near top of rad to SAI pump under wing. Blanked that off at the vacuum valve. No change in misfire. Tried it with MAF disconnected - if anything worse!  Beer and Bed.

This morning decided to change the cat on left bank back for old one. Theory was that the misfire had started around the time I changed it. Still misfiring, so not a problem with the Cat.

Paperclip test this morning. 135 has gone! New codes 21 TPS sensor voltage high and 73 MAF sensor voltage low

Do I also need to blank off the SAI pump end of the removed split pipe? Would the split pipe have been causing the misfire and gutlessness? (Picture of pipe location on yesterdays posting.)

Is that the Throttle Position sensor?
