H guys,im just looking for the views on the general lifetime expectancy of the auto gearbox for the 2.5TD. I know its hard to say but are we looking at 100,000 or 150,000 or 200,000. I have problems with mine what so ever, im simply wondering as im hoping to keep this car for many years because i just love it. Another question i have is the automatic gearbox oil replacement and filter change, whats peoples opinion on this. Ive heard it was sealed for life but then they changed that to 100,000 miles and mine has done 97,000. Does anyone know how much a regular garage would charge, dont really wanna go to vauxhall because they are normally quite expensive.
Thanks guys

meant to say NO PROBLEMS with mine, nothing at all,it is perfect this is just research, just to be clear, thanks

there's how to do in the maintenance section if you have the space to do an ATF change DIY. It's not difficult, just can be very messy.
An ATF change after 100 000 won't go amiss :y

Mine's done 156K now with no fluid changes & no problems

ok thanks, i dont have the ability or facility to change it so does anybody know how much a garage would charge roughly to have it changed, for example someone who has had it done recently
thanks

I didn't have problems after around the same milage, but it did no harm to change it. The ATF that came out was horrible. :y

Hi
Go to an auto transmission specialist to get the fluid/filter changed, they will be fully familiar with doing it.

I got charged 80 quid for fluid/filter-change a while back.
This included flushing-out the torque converter too.

That car was on 80k miles at the time, and is still running beautifully three years later!

ok thanks guys, so maybe costing about £100-£150 for it, she did so well at her MOT i think i will treat her to at 100,000 miles which is just over 2000 miles away
