Title: coolant loss
Post by: dunpullin on 17 May 2010, 11:49:56
eventually found the hbv which is hiding under the two pipes going to the heater matrix all looks dry in this area
ran the car upto temp with the expansion tank cap off still no visable leaks and no air in the tank
light mayo on the oil filler cap lots in the breather pipe goin to the sump which was cleaned last week
quite a big water drip from the exhaust every 10 secs or so
can anyone confirm that this indicates a blowen hg
thanks in advance

The dripping, was that with the air con operating?

Can you see whereabouts it is dripping? Is it about half wayalong the gearbox. Tucked up high are two rubber tubes(one either side). I believe that is where the condensate from the air con drips out normally. With my air con off I was getting drips from my heatermatrix coming out there..
