Is it safe to use Bio-Diesel in the 2.5TD??
Or do I need to replace any of the seals??
I am looking at "brewing" my own, but, I need to balance up the costs of it, Looking at running at around a 2-1 (Bio - Regular Diesel)...
Thanks...

Properly made biodiesel, I would think is fine.
Veggie oil on it's own, doesn't work well in the TD.

I have run upto 50/50 Veg oil & Diesel in a Cavalier TD sucessfully.

My neighbour uses a "two tanks of diesel to one of biofuel" method on his Astra diesel, and he swears by it, bio is only 85p per litre over here (lydney), but he has to change his fuel filter every 2k...............

But we're talking about the BMW lump with Bosch fuel injection which I believe does not take kindly to Bio or Veg
I'd like to be corrected on this & run mine on either one or the other

I know at least 4 people who have successfully run them on bio and or veg oil with no probs other than needing to diesel magic it couple times a year, however all of the only run 50/5- split
personally i dont having said that diesel plus10 here is 30percent bio and thats al i buy!! so you could say i do!!! doh ;D

A while ago I had my Land Rover repaired by a guy who was rebuilding a Saab engine which had been run on Bio diesel and had blown up. He gave me a list of about three manufacturers that said that would be the result.
Am sure Vauxhall was on the list but as said, they're BMW engines.

My 2.5TD developed a misfire at idle, it didn't clear immediately after diesel magic trick but after using a few more tanks of regular non supermarket diesel. This is despite a diesel "expert" saying I would need a new pump at far more than the car is worth. So it looks likely that it was dirt in the injection pump caused by extended (10 months) running on 100% Bio Diesel, perhaps not surprising as it is recycled cooking oil! I won't risk using it again.
