Front disc's started making a very loud 'squeaking' sound, stripped them down to find that one of the f/o/s pads was missing the 'anti-squeal' spring, no idea where it's gone but the 'wear sensor' is also broken, pads are only 1/4 worn, does anyone have a 'spring' going spare, please ?

the springs are attatched to the pads themselves so they will all need replacing , both sides !
And they are there to hold the pads in position while re-fitting
Use plenty of copper ease on the back of the pads/pistons and that should silence your squealing :y
As for the sensors try to rewire if you want them, but pads are cheaper without.
there is a way of removing them and poking the wire back to the solenoid under the wheel arch to stop the "check brake pads" warning coming up on the dash :yWill look into that one :y

Thanks, but the 'springs' can be removed, just wondered if anyone was changing there 'brake pads' and could send an old one !.
Regarding the 'wear sensor' £7.00 from Vauxhall.
The pads are still in very good condition, 1/4 worn, I tend to replace 'discs & pads', £90 trade club

had those down as anti rattle springs to keep the pads still with the brakes off? would they stop a squeel when present? .......
........or get new "spring thing" from dealers when you pick up a wear sensor? maybe?
breaker might pop in though...
