The Mrs has her eye on a 2001 2.2 manuel Turbo Diesel with over 13000 on the clock.
Never having owned any kind of Diesel in the past I was looking for any advise on what kind of problems I might expect.
Pros and cons compaired to a Petrol?

The biggest pro I can say is that my 2.2DTi estate does 550 miles to a tank on my daily commute, drop it on the motorway and youd see the other side of 600 whereas my 3.2 saloon does around 300 to a tankful.
The couple of pence extra on diesel is irrelevent when you go twice the distance on a tankfull. :y
Maintenance wise they are quite simple to look after, certainly no more difficult than a 4 cylinder petrol as in fuel filter, oil and filter and air filter at regular intervals. I've had a cranksensor fail on mine that was £29 plus an easy 20min job to replace and the common need to replace the wishbones (but then the car has done 120K).
They are a little sluggish compared to say a V6 off the line but once on the move they are fine in normal driving conditions. They have nearly the same torque figure of the larger V6's but only 120Bhp, however mine tows a 1200Kg (Unladen weight) caravan with ease.
