Title: petrol tank

every time i stop car ther is a bad smell of petol at rear of car.if i relese feul cap ther is a big his.can this be a blocked breather from tank and wher is it located or is this down to something else.98,3.0. :( :(is it safe to drive or is it going to go bang :question .
