Hi guys had the meega out earlier just a short run to the garden centre. When we came back to the car there was a substantial wet patch that went about a foot in front of the car.The water did need topping up slightly. After looking underneath it was dripping from the rear of the engine drivers side.Back of the bell housing.I have read through the forum and it sounds like it could be the HBV. :question.Obviously I cannot get a new part until monday but how can I tell if its the HBV thats causing the problem is there a way of finding out visually will it be obvious :question What else could it be if not the HBV...
Thanks in advance

Was it coolant, or water? If latter, could be A/C in this heat

have you any cracking on the pipes? usually if you have cracking on one pipe then you would have it on some others.

Hubby hasn't dismantled the engine at all..hes too hot and bothered to do it today. He wanted to know if the HBV would be obviously faulty

Not sure if this is a typical sign but when my HBV went it leaked less when the heater was set really cold (could travel for a day with little loss of coolant). When the heater was whacked up full and the valve opened it gushed out. This was how I pinpointed it in the first place. Hope this helps.
