hernia op......when the good ol nhs get round to it!
I had one of those about 4 years ago on the NHS and it was a right shambles. The first doctor came in and gave me a load of local anaesthetic injections around the area they were going to cutthen left. Them the doc performing the opp came in and started to cut a 5" hole in me but went further than the first doc had injected. I felt this searing pain and and went ape sh*t so the doc stopped and gave me more injections. I was in the hospital at 8am, cut open under local anaesthetic, stitched up and turfed out at midday and that was that not/ that I want to worry you or anything ;D

Got to say this - how much to go private - as it takes well too long on NHS - lad at work was incapacitated by this

Time for a hernia op party?
Would you trust Mark and Dave to do it?

They would probably do a better job than the NHS and with less chance of getting any life threatening infections ;D

I should have had one last february. I told a few of the lads I know and they came back with "I've had three", "Thats nothin, I've had four". 'dangle berries' ;D to this I said and I didn't go in. A bit uncomfortable now and again, and an unsightly lump (no, not my head) but I just get on with it.
Incidentally Pete, I insisted on a general anaesthetic ;)
