hello just changed my 3.0 v6 engine for another one but the fuel pump is in active would the manifold switch over valve solenoid valve have anything to do with this if broken any help much appreciated
-
Do the paperclip test and put the codes up :y

[cough]30[/cough]
-
sorry dont understand
-
ive done the paper clip test it came up with 19 135 144 any ideas
-
Fuel pump doesn't run unless there is a signal from the crank position sensor.
19 Incorrect RPM Signal
135 Telltale (Checklight) Voltage Low
144 Immobiliser No Signal
Motronic 2.8.1 (V6 Engines) fault codes (http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1160152415)
I don't think damage to the plenum solenoid is significant. Both code 19 and 144 could prevent the engine starting :(
-
cheers think i may have to visit vauxhall cause im not sure on what they mean ie incorrect rpm signal and no immobiliser signal

I take it you have done a engine transplant. :-/
-
Firstly, you might like to put your location in your profile. Someone local may be able to help if they know where you are.
A 19 is a code showing your crank sensor is faulty which ultimately will stop the car from running but as you say you have just changed the engine it may be an old code from previously.
So you could do with getting someone to read and clear the fault codes then see if it chucks the 19 back up to suggest a faulty C/S.

Members of this forum will be able to answer any questions you might have about the Omega and many more that you haven't even thought of yet. (and won't charge you)
Chances are that you have disturbed the wiring to the crank sensor and the immobiliser but without some clues as to what you have done to your car we can't really help much :(

I was thinking along the line of did the new engine come with the sensor which could be duff or was the original one used :y
-
Does the engine actually turn over, and if so is the EML flashing whilst it`s turning :question
-
it turns over and the sensor came off the old engine whice the cam belt snapped on and yes it is fully transplated and the eml does not flash when turning over its on all the time
-
Does the EML flash when the engine is turning :question
-
no it is permently on when turning over
-
144 is possibly old code. Change crank sensor for genuine.
-
i will do that and see what happens cheers
