Title: Front mat fixings/clips
Post by: steve_daly on 02 June 2010, 16:06:19
OK so here's my first (of many I am sure) requests for help, not a big issue but some help would be much appreciated.

On the carpet of my 51 facelift there are little fixings for holding car mats in position and obviously not riding up into the pedals etc. I'm sure most cars have them, but does anyone know where to get them to replace missing ones? Failing that part numbers and the like so I can get some ordered. I have no actual clips/studs and I think two of the actual fixings under the carpet are also missing (can't quite recall of hand).

All I can find after scanning the interweb for an hour or so are fixings to go on the mats themselves and not anything to replace the original bits actually in the car.

Did have a search on here but failed to find anything on the subject, but if there is anything, a link to said thread/post will be fine.

Like I said, not a big issue but these niggly little things seem to annoy me the most.

Do you have generic floor mats, or the original Vauxhall tailored mats with 'OMEGA' sewn into the front one's?
The part number for the 'velour classic set' as vauxhall calls them is; 91132419.
That gets you the proper set of velour floor mats with Omega sewn in, it also comes with all the fixing clips you'd need. I've asked at my VX dealer and they've said they couldn't get the mat clips on their own.
It may be worth asking your dealership, to see what they say.

Hi.
It seems that some models have the retaining lugs in the carpets ..but not all and not always model specific.
VX sell a set of front and rear over carpet mats that do have the holes in them and did come with the grommet screw that allowed them to be secured.
I have a set of them in my car with "OMEGA"embroidered in the mat in white stitching but my model/year..1998 Elite..doesn,t have the securing lugs in the original factory fitted carpet..so as said seems to be no consistency across range.
Unsure if local Vx dealers would still stock them as I bought them about 4-5 years ago.
Hope that helps abit

At the moment there are just generic type mats with no fixings at all.

Like I say, some of the fixings actually in the floor of the car are missing also, so even if I got a set with clips there's nothing for them to clip into.

Doubt dealer would be able to help with the fixings for the cars carpet ..as said its not all models/range that have them.
Best bet would be a breaker for the carpets ..try a post in "wanted" and if you go into dealers they might have some old stock of the original tab locking over carpet mats.
