track rod ends or centre tie rod to idler :-/ :-/ :-/

Yes or track rod ends.....idler is easy as you will be able to observe the play
-
cheers, got an idler in stock...will check for play 1st though.
Both sides about the same.

Not related then.......as the idler will not result in play on the drivers side.
Just jack them up and wiggle whilst observing where the lost motion is
-
ok, will do, cheers.
didnt pay an awful lot of attention but the rod going under the car was certainly wobbling with the movement.
-
steering idler doesnt really move, track rods ends move a bit, and can be wiggled on their own.
Think its wishbones.
-
wishbone play pivots further inboard, steering axis play will be rod play ime.
Do we need a "Jimbobs new car" section? ;) ;D :y

lol. i have got a few threads on the go...
had a few evenings...and a list of car jobs to start on :y
can almost 'twist' the drivers wheel on its axis :-/
on my old car, track rod movement seems the same, but the wheel is pretty solid. :-/
