Title: Where's the crank sensor in engine bay?
Post by: John Lewis on 04 June 2010, 11:23:23
Hi guys

I've checked out the guide but on that the engines out of the car. I went to the motor to see if I could see which shape the crank sensor is the other day but couldn't see it. Is the crank sensor visible in the engine bay? I need to work out which shape mine is.

Do you need to get the scuttle off to see it, or am I just being a bit fick like?

Ta in advance!

Getting the scuttle off will help, but not essential. The conenctor is normally clipped to an engine lifting eye just behind the passenger side cylinder head, along with a large multiway connector that feeds the injectors. Often they are not replaced on the lifting eye but left floating loose

Sensor itself is just by oil filter, only visible from below.

The crank sensor itself is just above the oil filter, passenger side of the bottom of the engine. The plug, which is what I think you're after is just under the passenger side skuttle near where the air-con pipes dissapear :y

EDIT: Darn it, too slow ;D
