Does anyone know the diameter of the steel rod that makes up the standard rear spring.

Hi,
My 01 2.2 saloon's rear spings start off as 8mm at the ends and are 16mm at the centre coils.

Thats a good idea I am trying to find out whether my springs are standard fitment or a lowering addition
