Hi all, I have read various articles referring to burping the coolant system - how is this done and is the header tank cap on or off. :-?
I have also read that the coolant system on the Omega will self bleed is this right? ;)

Supposed to self-bleed. Burping; engine idling, heater on full heat, blowers on max, vents open, expansion cap off and keep sqeezing top hose.

As Rob says. Bysqueezing the top hose you force the air and water that may be in it into the header tank. When you release the hose, its only water that goes back into the line, depleting the header tank level. The air 'lump' that bubbles up the header tank water sounds like a burp (to some... ;D ) hence the naming of the process.
Remember to top up and keep the water level correct. Replace the expansion cap and allow to cool overnight. Top up again in the morning as it will probably have dropped a little overnight. :y
