am looking at the correct part??just a thought!part im looking at is behind the injecter connecter and has 3 wires going to a connecter, thats all ive looked at so far,do i need to get to the other on the block to see??

Crankshaft sensor for 2.5 V6 is either:
90492061 - Jack Plug has rounded corners
90492006 - Plug has square ends
These part numbers relate to vehicles built between 1994 to 2003 with engine code X25XE
I've never heard of a Omega crank sensor without a wire lead????? but I have heard of VX Dealers who don't know their Ar*e from their Elbow!! ;D ;D
HTH :y
The above most definately DOES NOT apply to Andyc!!! :y
-
Which end is that?and where is the part no just to be sure!

Ok, look at the connector which will be at the back of the passenger side head. If it has Radius Corners they call it Oval. (this is the one I think will be on your car)
If it has Square corners as for a Rectangle one.
Hope that makes sense, I will see if I hae a picture to explain better what I mean :y
-
Here we go :y
The connector on the left of the picture is the opposite end of the Crank Sensor that you rightly said bolts next to the Oil Filter.
This is the "Oval" type.
When you get the new Crank Sensor follow the guide on how to fit it that should help :y

-
2.5 (later models) 90492061 Retail £59.50 Trade Club £46.32 both & VAT
Assuming it's the one in the picture.
-
The reason I put the picture is so you (Iceman) can check before buying one. :y
Having said that all the 2.5's and 3.0's I have changed have been this one :-?
