Hi,
my old tub will need a new exhaust from the cat back (3 pieces) before toooo much longer. Been quoted around £230 from fast fit outlets but was wondering if it's cheaper to get the parts and pay (someone on here?) to fit. I've fitted them myself before but a god-awful job without a ramp. Are any of the ones on ebay any good?
Sorry, I bet this has been asked 1000s of times. :-[ :y

If you're looking on eGay have a look for eternalcar ;) I'd fit it for you but it's a bit far I fear!

Yep, has been asked loads of times :) - Go to eternal, approx £120 cat back, doddle to fit DIY. Else take to a local garage slip them some used notes

I'm about to go down the eternal route myself after seeing the recommendations on here and being disappointed with the length of time the Bossal one I fitted lasted.
One word of advice if you decide to do a diy fit. Give the bolts that join the middle boxes on to the cat pipes a good wire brushing and plenty of WD40 before you start. I speak from experience when I say it's a right pain if you snap the bolts off and have to drill them out. :-[

Thanks for all the info guys, Richgm, can you let me know where you got/get your system from please? :y

Ah, just spotted, they have thier own site. :)

Hi, I contacted Eternalcar and they do not list exhausts for the 2.2, the 2.0 16V is listed tho. Is the exhaust the same foe both the 16V 4-pots? :-/

Hello again,
Boffin required (Tunnie?) Is the 2.0 16V exhaust the same as the 2.2?
Cheers :y

Hi Acura.
the 2.0 Omega litre exhaust fits straight on the 2.2.
but of course it has only one middle silencer instead of a pair.
The cost of the 2.2 assembly (from cat back. ex cat ) at SMS was £196
Whilst the SMS price for the 2.0 litre single box version was £115.
I am told this applies to Vectra 2.2 and 2.0 as well as the diesel.
I didn,t notice much difference with the 2.0 exhaust on..in place of the 2.2 twin box system but anything is quieter than a blown rear silencer.
A good saving there of £81.00 if you are skint, or just dont want ripped off. and the single box is lighter as well.so saves fuel ...?
klickster :D ;)
Be assured that it does fit straight on, and is easier to fit than the twin box as well
