Title: Omega start problem
Post by: bmsports on 08 July 2010, 23:07:03
Hi, i have a 2001 Omega 2.2 Diesel and when its cold it starts fine, when i drive it and its warm, if i stop it for a while it wont start, it turns fine but just wont pick up . I drove from Liverpool to Troon non stop and there was no problem,no over heating,44miles per gallon,no mis fire,no lack of power, no problem but stoped it at the bost and got it very hard to start about ten minutes and then a big ploom of smoke, not blue smoke but diesel smoke.I took it to the Vauxhall garage and they spent loads of my money and still couldnt tget to the bottom of the problem. The next step is the fuel injector pump but thats costing almost as much as the car, 1,128 pounds.Has anyone had this problem before?,

Next time it's hot and struggling to start pour a jug of cold water over the injector pump and try starting it again. Then report back :y
