I have just bought 7 litres of fuchs titan 4000 for a atf change on my auto gearbox,my question is that when i remove the sumps ( i will be doing it on a 4 post lift ) and remove the old oil what is to stop me from refilling the sumps with oil and offering them up to bolt back on with oil in them instead of filling through the filler hole,i will have a assistant ( my son),the smaller sump looks like it would not be a problem on my own ( but not the larger sump ),any thoughts ?

My instant thought is spillage !!! A full sump will have "sloshing inertia" tm :) and be very difficult, IMHO, to hold level whist you get the bolts in and the gasket aligned !!!
I'd rather go the "kill-a-spray" route for refilling... :)

I do see your point, maybe i might get away with just refilling the smaller sump and offering it up,i will see what level the atf is in the sumps when i remove them :)

Be careful nt to wet the gasket before closing 8-)
