Title: Central Locking Reset
Post by: Lush on 09 July 2010, 23:16:56
Further to other posts.
If the key fobs are knackered(Martin is fixing them - thanks)

Is there a reset for central locking?
Fuse is OK,but have to push all door buttons down to lock car, then lock door.( Cant do the back door/driver door bit-wont work).
Any suggestions,its a 2.2CD on 51 plate.

Thanks.

think if you put keys in ig and turn to 2 then press button on fob should rest.

I have sent Entwood a PM,thanks again mate.

Keyfob is on its way back, the trouble is the blooming car will not lock doing the through the back door to the driver door routine.
Each door has to be locked individually with the door button and then alarm goes off every time I unlock with key, grrrrrrrrrrr!!

Was alright, now it not, will have another cold one and wait and see what the refurbished(thank you again Martin) does.

Sounds like the central locking part of your system is not working right .. as all the doors "should" lock from the drivers door ...

It's possible the system is just desynched.. which you can fix when the key gets back ... but its also possible that the contacts on the drivers door are not triggering the system.

Have you tried the drivers door lock with the engine running and you sat inside ???  .. just wondering if you are getting a lower voltage at the door than normal .. might be slightly higher with the alternator active ??

Yup,as you said Entwood,have tried all combo's.
I await the postie on Monday and then see what can be done.
Lovely motor, same colour as yours I believe?

In two years nothing spent, this week £350,and people scraping her, been a bad week, but hey ho, not bad i suppose, just hope the old girl still respects me?

Driving her is like............well.........luverly jubbly..........and she still looks good.. although she will let anybody in her at the mo,without sounding an alarm??
Nuff said......respect!

Been doing a bit of reading .. and I'm wondering if the central locking control might have come unpluged/loose ???  Worth a check to see its all nice and firm ??

Control unit
Note: On model built from 1996 onwards, the
central locking control unit is combined with
the anti-theft warning system.
Removal
2 Remove the trim panel from the right-hand
front footwell.
3 Release the catch and disconnect the
wiring from the bottom of the control unit.
4 Unscrew the mounting nuts and remove the
control unit from the vehicle.
Refitting
5 Refitting is a reversal of removal, but tighten
the mounting nuts securely.

If not it's probably the drivers door button thats faulty ... :(
