Had some new tyres put on my car yesterday and the lads were panicking as they could hear a hissing noise. I laughed and said it was just the fuel pump. Er, no, it isn't, said one, it's your air shock! So what I thought was a very noisy fuel pump is in fact the offside height adjustable air shock which is leaking air around a seam (not from the piping). Any idea how much these are new or has anybody got a reasonable pair for sale? How hard are they to swap (not the shock part but the air part)? Thanks.

Both mine went, the car was bouncing all over the place. I got a set of Monroe shocks, you also get a pressure gauge and air hose so you can manually inflate them. I think they were about £180.

If you have no suspension levelling system at all, ie not elite, then go for the items in the link.
But if you have an elite then you can get a pair of self levelling shocks for 150 sobs if you have a trade club card which is easily obtained via the abs link at the bottom of my post, this will give substantial saving on the vast majority of service parts on any vauxhall.
I would not consider anything other than genuine self levelling shocks for an elite.

Yes,I've had most all suspension mods and my elite is without doubt the best of all

It says I have bought them!!!!

I must admit I like the idea of genuine replacements if only so that the self levelling carrys on working. I do carry a lot of weight in the back at times-the main reason for getting the Estate! Thanks all for your help, I guess its a trip down to the local stealers, again :(

With your trusty Trade Club/ABS card? If not, the £20 membership would be more than paid for the very first time used :y :y
