Hi
Has anyone fitted custom projector headlights ??
Here is a link to some European versions:
http://www.orange-tuning.de/shop/dectane-opel-omega-halo-rims-headlightset-black-p-15633.html
Obviously designed for Opel Omega, so left hand drive beams on projectors.
So, I assume the projector shade must be changed/replaced to give right hand drive beam pattern.
Has anyone done this headlamp conversion, and what was necessary to get the right hand drive beam pattern ??
Any info welcome.

I'm not totally sure on this, and someone else maybe able to help. But I think there maybe a lever of some sort to change from lhd to rhd when you need to?.
You could always email them to ask if the lights have this option ?.
Closest translation for the ad is;
Black, in the Oneblock Design
Integrated turn signal
2 parking light rings
Xenon optics lens for electrical beam width adjustment
H1 bulbs, and E-tested
1 set (2 headlights).
Hope that helps ?. :y

The levers do NOT change from LHD to RHD .. or vice versa .. they change from assymetric to symetric .... subtle difference ... :)
on a UK car ... RHD ... the NORMAL beam is shaped \__ \__ when the levers are moved the shape becomes ____ ____ to avoid blinding oncoming drivers when on the continent.
The assymetric beam gives better illumination of the kerb, cyclists and pedestrians.
A LHD drive car will have __/ __/ as standard and the ability to go to ____ ____ for diving in the UK
I believe that for an MOT the lights MUST be the correct UK spec ones and not LHD ones with the levers moved... I could be wrong but that is my understanding.
EDIT .. further research has found this ..
Masks or converter kits
Right hand dip headlamps can be temporarily altered for use in the UK by fitting masks or converter kits which remove the beam 'kick-up' to the right A headlamp altered in this way is not a reason for rejection, if a. the headlamp aim is not rejected for the reasons listed under diagram 1 (except that the top of the beam image will be a straight line) b. the light output is not unduly reduced- not usually a problem with commercially produced kits c. the mask or converter is securely attached

So looks like my info was wrong .. apologies ..:(

No apology necessary, your information is very useful and helpful. :y
I must get things perfect for road use and MOT regs.
Reply from supplier of European custom headlight for Omage B was:
"Those headlights are unfortunately not suitable or switchable for RHD.
The demand was too low to produce them for RHD the manufacturer told me."
So, I am back to customising my UK (rhd) Omega projector headlights.

It's not difficult to do them yourself if you really want to go that route, and you wouldn't have to do them black if you didn't want to ?.
One or two have successfully converted the headlight to the Euro loook themselves.
I started doing this with a set of Facelift headlights, unfortunately I only got halfway through as other projects / and lifes problems got in the way, so their still half done ! ::) .

Well. I have a pair of Omega projector lights (1998) that I am modifying.
The chrome inserts are painted Satin Red, to match the car.
First to do is the adjusters, I am going to fit the aluminium ones.
To get the Euro look, I have sourced some round reflectors for the main beam/sidelight.
Also some round indicator lenses. :)
Finished result will be very similar to the Declane custom lights.
Of course they will be correct rhd beam for uk roads.
I am going to take my time with this, but hopefully will be finished by mid August. :-/
The lights work fine, had them fitted for a while but the adjuster broke and couldnt adjust for the MOT... >:(
When they are finished I will post some pix.

Sounds interesting on how your take is on the Euro look.
Be interesting to see some pictures when they're on the car.
And sounds like you'll have yours on your car before I do ;D :y
