New to Omegas car spot on then all of a sudden problems with starting, did paperclip test and came up with fault code 145, which after looking thru is Immobiliser wrong signal. Can anybody shed a bit of light on this cos its doing my head in thanks :-/

Have you had the keyfob apart ??? If you have .. pray .. if you haven't .. take it apart ..carefully ... in the "horseshoe" part, the bit with the metal key .. should be a very small rectangular block, it slots into a little holder.
If this block is loose (or missing :( ) then it doesn't communicate with the transponder ring by the ignition keyhole .. and the immobilsor assumes it is the wrong key, so won't allow the engine to start.
A dab of superglue will hold the block in position.
If you've had the key apart and the block has dropped out, start looking very intently .. its not very big .. but it is very important ... :y :y
I had intermittent starting problems because the block was loose and moving around inside the key .. sometimes in the right place .. mostly in the wrong place !!
edited for smelling pistakes ... :(

Thanks for that, the little thing is in place and isn't loose, i've just looked so i dont know?

Do you have another key ?? If so, are the symptoms the same ...
If they are it could be the "receiver" by the ignition key hole .. ??

did get spare key, just looked and no little thing even in it so thats why that one dont work, thanks Chris

Thanks for the help up to now, it looks like it isn't immobiliser fault, charged battery fully car started straight away couple of times. Left it then not starting, but noticed when cranking battery smoking, never known that before. Battery topped up, Tested it showed 12.7v after charging put some load on it down to 12v Started it dropped to 6v then on idle was 13.9 and on fast idle 2000rpm still showing 13.9 so i know battery done in but not to sure about alternator, all the earths seem solid any ideas

If its an immobilser fault, the EML will flash ;)
In this case, I suspect the 145 is simply an old code :y

Breifly take negative connection off battery when engine is running the engine should stay running .If it dies the alternator is goosed :y

NO! Never disconnect the battery when an engine is running! You risk damaging every ECU in the car. An alternator can't necessarily keep a stable output voltage without a battery across it.
If you want to make sure the alternator is charging use the proper diagnostic procedure, I.E. measure the voltage at the battery under various conditions of load, as described here: http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1225724099

Have measured when on idle gettig 13.9 on 2000rpm still at 13.9 with load on reading 13.2 on idle and 13.4/13.5 with load what you think?

I wouldn't have thought those readings would cause a problem - certainly not this time of year. Typically you'll see over 14 so a little low. Is the battery positive terminal getting hot?

Its warm but not hot, you can touch it and keep your finger on it, its warmer than negative side if thats any help, but the bloody thing is starting at the minute taking its time and tuning over slow its doing my head in.....
