Does anyone know where to find decent bootlid spoilers as all i seem to be able to find are horrible jap style things. Looking for a good one like on J.Cecotto's V8Star race car???
-
Argos do a great range of Ironing boards :P
-
Well, everyone's entitled to do what they want to their own car, but are you seriously thinking of putting a spoiler of this type on your car ? :-? .
You may want to try looking at places like Halfords, Demon Tweeks, or any other motorsport supplier etc, there bound to have the sort you're looking for.
Internet search via 'search engine' should find you what you want ?.
-
a spoiler that size on a 2.0? they barely move as it is, more weight is not a good idea :-/
-
I just love it when someone asks a question on here and gets shot down cos of personal taste.
Doesn't help the guy or the forum, does it?
Muppets.

Anyone who thinks a spoiler like this should be on a road car needs their head examined!

Especially on a 2.0!

Tunnie, with respect and allready mentioned.
When someone asks a question then thats what they are doing, they are not asking your opion, this is not generral chat. :y

And that just underlines my point - and makes it worse.

You never know he mite be making a street copy of the track car ?????

Thanks for your wide and varied responses, some positive. I am not asking everyone to like it as this is my taste. I AM aiming at creating a road legal replica of the race car. As to the comments about my 2.0, firstly even this engine has punted this car along at 136mph with a little more to go in standard form (before the cam sensor packed up, now only revs to about 4000rpm) .
Secondly, i am looking into replacing the standard 2.0 Ecotec with a 4.6 Northstar mated to a 6 speed box with all of the other required modifications (i.e. Brakes, Suspension, Wheels & Tyres and so forth). This is a long term plan in the making and before i even begin i am just doing all of my homework first.

Can you seriously say this does NOT look handsome.

On a genuine track car its there for a purpose, on a road car. Looks stupid in my opinion, and belongs on a Saxo!
Regarding a V8, your better off fitting an LS1 or LS7, GM almost put the 5.7V8 and released it, there are full tech specs on fitting that engine. It was only pulled at the last minute before hitting production

Hi,
I didn't dig into this link too deep, but the one below maybe helpful in what you want to achieve perhaps ?.

I like you Tunnie. If this spoiler won't be useful on my miggy ,"Only A 2.0" ,what the hell use would it be on a peashooter Citroen PAXO with only front wheel drive and at MOST a 2.0.
I just think a rare and unique miggy will be needed in years to come.

Cause i've got a 2.2 and i know they are gutless, and won't win any races. yes they do 136, but they take for ever to get there.

I am happy to look into other spoilers of a more subtle type too.

Good enough for me though buddy. But still only keeping it until a V8 goes in. Then i will have a dream car in real proportions. You are funny mate.

If you want a spoiler look, try and replicate this:

For me its all about wolf in sheeps clothing, one of the members here put full running gear of a Lotus Carlton into a P reg GLS Omega. Exterior was kept standard, badges rust and all, only the alloys went on.
Now guess the look of a BMW M5 owner, when a rusty P reg Omega goes flying past at 155mph..... thats worth it.
Drop the V8 in, but leave the Saxo body kit behind.... :y

Much more taste-full, more in-keeping with what Omegas are. That Lotus does not look mad and insanely fast, understated speed 8-)

I am a very PROUD fan af GM and it's Motorsports heritage on a worldwide scale. I think that all of GM's successful machines deserve massive credit. These are just a couple of my ideas to show my pride in GM.

don't supose any one is breaking a capa monaro? big v8 and four wheel drive? probably yellow... ;)
