Title: Electric fans not kicking in
Post by: ram 428 on 23 July 2010, 16:36:45
Hi/

Came back from work yesterday M25 Dartford Bridge only to find out my electric fans were and still are not working. temp goes over 100 and still not kicking in. Checked the fuse which is fine. Is there a sensor involved if yes where abouts.

Many Thanks,
Jamie

Sensor in the top of rad, just under top hose.

Additionally, fans should come on with A/C

Several fuses involved in the fans ... so did you check the ones in the triangular box by the battery ?? When mine packed in it was the fuse there that had failed ..  green one  IIRC .. :(

The 2 green 30A fuses mounted side by side are for the fans.

Thanks for that one 30Amp fine, the other completely melted. Any thoughts? Also partially melted the fuse holder that it is in? bit worrying

As there are 'two fuses' within the triangular box under the bonnet do i assume one fuse is for each fan. Its just one fuse had practically melted and the other fuse looked ok but both fans would not work.
