Title: Bike rack
Post by: Dracoro on 15 July 2010, 21:46:26
Have 2/3 pushbikes that I'd like to transport regularly on my Omega Elite saloon (with std rear spoiler in case that makes a difference to which rack I should get?).

Anyone any recommendations? Preferably cheap(!) and one that, ideally, can be used on my wife's 06 Focus. If it would also work on my S2000 then all the better but not a problem if not (I've heard many racks aren't suitable for sports cars).

Paddy Hopkirk do a great one that will do all you want, and folds up to go in the boot.
Price a bit steep at £60, but excellant. Goes on the hatch, boot, or can be reconfigured to go on a sports car.

(Looks a bit Heath Robinson, but brilliant)

Easier if you have a tow bar:

I had a 3 bike rack on my mondeo then had the omega it would not fit because of rear spoiler so had to go with the tow ball type fore 3 bikes

Thanks chaps.

No tow bar so need one that will attach to car.

Possibly thinking that a roof rack may be a better way to spend my money as it can be used for other things as well.....
