Andy, I think the following is a much more useful kit;

•Rocker gaskets 2 sets: 90511451.
•O-rings 16 off: 90411826.
•Sealent, Black (not the Green stuff!) 1 off: 90485251.
•Breather bridge to plenum seal 1 off: 90467543.
•Breather bridge to throttle O ring 4 off 90500983.

I have yet to ever need to replace plenum O rings.  :y

Is the 'breather bridge' the black plastic cover that says 'Ecotec' which the 4 vacuum pipes connect to?

Yes.

So the above list will allow you to do the cam covers and clean the breathers

I have been lucky (so far) as every time I have had a 'breather bridge' off to clean it the seals have been just about re-usable. I agree that they are more likely to need replacing than the plenum O rings.

Yep I agree.  However in view of the cost of the camcover gaskets it may be helpful to offer a kit containing 1 off gasket, 8 off orings and black sealant - particularly as I have seen a number of V6s where only one cam cover leaking (usually the passenger side  :()

This suggestion defo gets my vote as, at the price of these gaskets, I don't plan on changing the one that's not leaking!

is there a 'way' to know if they are leaking - apart from seeing loads of oil down the side or something - whats the give away (e.g. on my A8 its the fact the car smells like the inside of a workshop!)

Oil in plugwells, or seeping onto exhaust manifold.  If the o-rings go, you can see seeping from camcover bolts.

And the smell of burning oil as it tends to drip onto the manifolds!!
