Got a non-brake-lighted spoiler off a member (no names), in the correct colour for our latest tractor.
Great, thinks I ............. BUT ..........
Just examined it, and guess what?
The inner two studs of the four are missing, and the outer two are, well, fubarred.

Will something like Sikaflex hold it in place?
Perhaps I could screw self-tapping bolts through the tailgate into the spoiler to assist?
Or is it possible to securely heli-coil or similar the spoiler and then fit it conventionally?
All advice appreciated .........

On our estate tourer the spoiler is stuck on.....
There are no boltholes at all. Loo-knee had one the same as well.
Don't know what they use to glue it on but it's good stuff!

had the same thing last time i did one, i removed the dead bolts drilled it out to 14mm without going completely through obviusly >:(then put 10mm hex head bolts in the hole after dipping them in mixed up p40 then filled the remainder of the hole with the same stuff, let it go off then bolted to the car and it has never given a moments trouble,
the bonus is its easily removeable just by undoing the four 10mm nuts on the inside :y

Soiler...............can I have a "p" please Bob ;D ;D ;D
Yes I've seen a few spoilers for sale in the past, don't like the idea of drilling, so sticking is an option.

sikaflex will stick anything to anything like shit to a blanket. Used it on coaches the rep stuck two pieces of glass together which would not part. The key to it is preparing the surfaces then holding the spoiler in place until its gone off.

Would a 'Soiler' made a Traktor estate move like 'Sh*t off a Shovel'? ::)

all the spoilers on estates ive come across have been bonded on,to remove them use acetate but go carefull if you are doing it on a car you are keeping as acetate is a brillient paint remover.

Or do you mean Acetone??
Acetate is a plastic e.g. Recording tape

Right, I've got a cartridge of Sikaflex 255 FC primerless windscreen adhesive.
Is this the stuff I need to bond the spoiler to the tailgate?
::)
