Help please... some little s**t has poured a load of sugar in my fuel tank....
please help on what to do..???
am at a loss....
-
Have you run it?
-
no mate, not even turned the ignition on...
-
How much fuel is in the tank? And how much Sugar?
Best option would be to attach a hose to the fuel pump outlet in the panel under the boot floor, bridge the fuel pump relay contacts and pump it out into a couple of jerry cans, IMHO.
Then remove the pump plate and check for any undisolved remains in the tank.

Any idea why it happened?
-
cheers all... don't suppose theres someone in the north lincs area that wants to give me a hand..???

As there's little fuel, probably best to lift to lid on the tank, syphon out the remains and check for sugar in the corner by the filler.
If you're confident very little went in the alternative is to brim it with petrol and hope for the best. :-/

Wouldn't like to try myself mind you :-/

have research this subject online, and there are mixed opinions on it... some people say the car will be fine but others are saying i'd need to take off and clean ou the tank...
any ideas....????

I know it's too late but, how did they get to the fuel filler.
I thought it locked the flap when the car was deadlocked. Did they break it open?

drain out as much as u can. then get a jerry can of fuel pour it in so it picks up most of the contaminated fuel. Then fill to the brim with high octane fuel and take it for a drive. Hopefully then it would have desolved so much to clear through.
Cant guarantee this will work mind u but i suppose the only other thing is pullin out the fuel tank and giving it a good clean out.
-
Sorry meant drain again before u fill it up.

the battery had died yesterday so i had to manually lock all the door, so the fuel filler wasn't locked.... thats how the little scrotes have done it

theres very little fuel in it any way am thinking of dropping the tank as its only held on with the straps and 4 bolt, am just concerented when to comes to disconnecting the pump and fuel nozzle etc...
does anyone know how to do it..????

Dropped the fuel tank today, wasn't that bad.. There was about 500g of sugar in the tank (have got pictures if anyone wants to see), flushed it all out, replaced the fuel filter, and car is running perfectly....
thanks all for the help...
